No matter what effect I tried, they just seemed to take the attention away from the flower. Though the above picture is certainly interesting, it is a bit dark and the flower seems to lose a bit of its beauty (I think).
Here is the original. I like the softer color and the green background.

I guess they each just have a different "feel" to them. Which do you prefer?

The "adjusted" is clever and pretty... the original is beautiful! Just my opinion.
